Plastic recycling is the process of recovering scrap or waste plastic and reprocessing the material into useful products. Since the vast majority of plastic is non-biodegradeable, recycling is a part of global efforts to reduce plastic in the waste stream, especially the approximately 8 million tons of waste plastic that enters  the Earth's ocean every year.  

 The aim of waste management is to extract the maximum practical  benefits from products and to generate the minimum amount of end waste.

 A smoothly functioning waste management scheme needs long-term planning, waste avoidance strategies, an attractive collection system, eco-friendly waste treatment, but also environmental awareness training for children and adults. All these measures serve the goal of increasing the quality of life.
